Natività

The Nativity is an artpiece made in cooked polychrome inlaid, a unique technique in the world and patented by our workshop. All the production phases are handmade: the preparation of the clays, the inlay, the carving, the smoothing, the wax treatment, the polishing and packaging.

To produce “The Nativity” we use 10 different types of clay, at full thickness: the piece is not painted and the different colors belong to the same material of which it is composed , across the  whole piece. 

The handmade process defines the uniqueness of the piece. The smoothing and final polishing make it soft to the touch, preserving all the characteristics of the material.

“The Nativity” is a nativity scene and a unique piece, also , encompassing a number of symbolic meanings. “From the tree of Iesse a shoot will spring…”, the roots of the Iesse tree cross the stratified time, represented by the base of the piece and give extension to the tree of life, emerging from the basement. Here, the annunciation of the angels, invoking the birth and arrival of the Saviour: the annunciation is to all and for all.
